News Flashes

In addition to the main reporting tool, IXL provides news flashes, which are notices of significant accomplishments. From here, you can click the print icon for any item in the list to obtain a certificate for that accomplishment. Show your pride and pin it up where people can see it!

Information for teachers

At the start of a new school year, IXL clears out all your class-level news flash data.

IXL determines the first day of school according to the following criteria:

If you are part of a site license that has an established first day of school, the default date is that of your site and is set by your site administrator on the Settings page.
If you have a single classroom license, you define the first day of school in your IXL Teacher profile, which you can access by clicking Profile & settings at the top of the window. If you do not enter this information, IXL uses a default date of August 1st.
If you are located outside of the US, and your country has established a first day of school, the default date is that of your country.
