  • Does a membership include all of my children or do I need to purchase multiple memberships?

    There is no need to purchase more than one membership. You can purchase access for multiple children within your family membership. Each child will have his or her own account. IXL adapts to each child's skill level and will track individual progress.

    Pricing for family memberships starts at just $9.95/month or $79/year for one subject. Each additional child costs $2/month or $20/year.   • Can I purchase a membership for just one subject?

    Yes, you can absolutely purchase a membership for just one subject. To purchase, please click here and select the subject you want to purchase.

  • If I already have access to math, is there a cost to purchase language arts?

    If you already have access to math, you can add language arts to your membership for $6/month or $50/year. This price will be pro-rated if you upgrade in the middle of a billing cycle.

    To update your plan, sign in to your IXL parent account, and click on the welcome drop-down menu. Select Manage account. In the Membership information section, click add language arts. Be sure to click Update to confirm.

  • Do you offer a trial membership for family users?

    We only offer trial memberships to teachers. We do not offer trial family memberships because parents have the option of purchasing a monthly membership instead of committing to a full year. We do allow you to practice up to 20 questions per day for free, so you can try out IXL before purchasing a membership.

  • Do the children in my membership receive access to all grade levels?

    Yes! All IXL memberships provide unlimited access to every grade level available on the site for the subject(s) in your subscription.

  • Can I become a member if I live outside the U.S.?

    Of course! IXL has members in more than 150 countries.

    You can sign up directly on our website using a credit card. Our prices are in U.S. dollars, so your credit card company will convert the charge to your local currency based on the current exchange rate.

    If you live in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, or the United Kingdom, IXL offers customized math content, with subscription rates quoted in your local currency. We also offer an EU edition, priced in euros.

  • Can I pay in a different currency?

    All prices are quoted in U.S. dollars. Your credit card statement will show the amount debited in your currency based on the exchange rate on the date of transaction.

  • Do you accept any form of payment other than credit card?

    The easiest way to pay is via credit card here. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. If you do not have a credit card, please contact our Membership Services department at support@ixl.com for information on alternative payment methods.

  • Do you accept PayPal?

    The easiest way to purchase a membership is via credit card here. We do accept international credit cards, if you don't reside in the United States.

    If you'd prefer to pay via PayPal, we accept PayPal for yearly memberships. For more information, please contact support@ixl.com.

  • How do I add a child to my membership?

    To add a child to your membership, sign in to your IXL parent account, and click on the welcome drop-down menu. Select Manage account. From here, click Add children, make the appropriate selections, and click Confirm.

  • If I add a child during the course of my membership, will the price be reduced?

    Yes, when you add a child to your membership, the cost will be adjusted to reflect the time remaining in your billing period.

  • How do I update my credit card information?

    To update your credit card information, sign in to your IXL parent account, and click on the welcome drop-down menu. Select Manage account. In the Billing details section, click Edit and make your changes. Please ensure that you click Update to save your changes.

  • I have a monthly membership and would like to switch to a yearly membership. Can I apply the payments I made toward the monthly membership to a yearly membership?

    We cannot apply payments from your monthly membership to your new yearly membership. When you switch to a yearly membership, the change takes effect after your current month ends, so you will not lose the time you have already purchased.

    To switch to a yearly membership, sign in to your IXL parent account, and click on the welcome drop-down menu. Select Manage account. From here, click switch to yearly.

  • Can I put my monthly membership on hold?

    Of course! You can put your monthly membership on hold for up to three months. To put your membership on hold, sign in to your IXL parent account, and click on the welcome drop-down menu. Select Manage account. From here, click Put membership on hold.

    Your account will not be charged during the hold period. When the hold period is over at the end date you have chosen, your monthly membership will renew and you will be charged as usual.

  • How do I cancel my membership?

    You can cancel your membership at any time. Simply sign in to your IXL parent account, and click on the welcome drop-down menu. Select Manage account. From here, click Cancel membership. Please ensure that you click Submit to complete the cancellation. Your membership will remain active until your current billing period ends.

  • If I cancel my membership, will I receive a pro-rated credit?

    We do not offer pro-rated refunds or credits for any partially used membership periods. You may cancel your IXL membership at any time. Once you have canceled your membership, your credit card will not be charged again. You will continue to have access to your account until the current billing period ends.

  • Are there mobile apps for IXL?

    Oh, yes! IXL now offers apps for Android tablets, Chromebooks, iPads, and Kindles. For more information and to download an app, go to www.ixl.com/apps.

    If you have an existing IXL account, just sign in to your account from the app and begin practicing on your device.

    Without an account, you can practice 20 problems a day for free on the app. If you'd like to have unlimited access to IXL, purchase a subscription at www.ixl.com/membership. Then, use your IXL username and password to sign in to the app from your device and start tackling practice challenges.

  • How do I get an account for the iPad, Android, or Kindle app?

    To get an account for the iPad, Android, or Kindle app, go to www.ixl.com/membership, and sign up for a subscription. Your IXL username and password are what you use to sign in to the app.

    If you haven't already, download the iPad app from the iTunes Store, the Android app from the Google Play Store, or the Kindle app from the Amazon Appstore. Then, sign in to start practicing and earning awards!

  • Can I add language arts to my membership for only one child and not the other?

    When you add language arts to your family membership, it is a flat rate of $6/month or $50/year. The price does not change if only some of the profiles on your account use language arts. In general, every child on your membership will have unlimited access to every subject purchased for your family membership.

  • If I add language arts during the course of my membership, will the price be reduced?

    Yes, the cost will be pro-rated if you have added a subject in the middle of a billing cycle.
