Meeting Diverse Needs—In Class or at a Distance
IXL is a great tool that my students use for practicing for the EOC exam. It is excellent for differentiated instruction and I sometimes use it as a quiz grade. My students get excited when they see their grades increasing every time they get a question correct. I also get excited when I see their faces light up when a motivational comment flashes on the screen such as "Good job" or "Excellent."
My students like the immediate feedback and the SmartScore. It gives them a sense of accomplishment. My level 1 and level 2 students were 10 percentage points above the district average on their semester exams. I believe that IXL had a lot to do with that.
I love your product, students love your product, and parents love your product. I implemented IXL for enrichment, remediation, and practice as a complement to traditional 'chalk and talk' instruction. Cumulatively, 36 students have completed an additional 23,000 math problems in addition to their bookwork and worksheets. Students are more engaged and practicing more than they ever have.
