IXL gives students the opportunity to become independent learners. It allows the teacher time to meet more one-on-one and in small groups instead of teaching concepts with the whole group. When teaching whole group, some higher students can often be bored with the subject matter or shout out every answer because they already know the material. At the same time, the lower students don't understand any of the subject matter and often become disengaged. IXL allows students to work at their individual levels.
