Meeting Individual Needs in High School Algebra and Geometry
I like the data that I receive from IXL. It is very useful when I am assessing my students' abilities and working on their IEP (Individualized Education Plan). The students always perform well when working on IXL. They enjoy the instant gratification of finding out if they were right or wrong.
My students and I love IXL. I give them each individualized skills to work on their specific diverse needs. We have monthly competitions of total questions completed between my four different grade levels which motivates the students to complete their weekly homework. Also, I print out each students' weekly progress report, and send it home so parents can be part of our collaborative learning environment. With IXL, my students with diverse needs have increased their overall Math and ELA performance!
We use IXL as an intervention tool and an "I'm done" activity. Both have drastically improved the environment in my classroom. The greatest impact is that the students get instant feedback, so they are able to see their mistakes and make changes. I love all the options and the data. I am using the Real-Time Diagnostic for our progress monitoring and it is great.
